Two-hour shifts, two of us on each one. Pick a booth, pick a time, put your name down. No need to ring me first and no need to wait for me to ring you.
If you don't mind where you go, take an early voting shift. Last time around 19,500 people in Yan Yean voted early and 14,100 voted on the day. The fortnight before the election matters more than the Saturday.
What a booth captain does. One person per booth per day who turns up first, brings the cards and the signs, shows new people where to stand, and is the one I ring if something goes sideways. You don't need to have done it before. If you've handed out once, you can captain.
Need to pull out of a shift? Just text me on 0411 275 577 and I'll sort it. No hard feelings, life happens.
